This workshop introduces participants to key concepts, theory, methods, and tools of hybrid modeling and simulation for application in complex population health and healthcare contexts. Using an array of familiar and insightful examples and exercises, it guides participants to the essentials of hybrid modeling, combining system dynamics, agent based, and discrete event modeling, using AnyLogic. It also conveys an understanding of how hybrid modeling can be used together with traditional analytical methods, including epidemiological and biostatistical methods, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses. It helps participants to develop their own hybrid models and prepares them to make sound decisions and design more effective policies in population health and healthcare.
